Shala Yoga Rules and Guidelines
General
-
Students and guests will be admitted to the Premises during normal hours of operation.
We have a strict ‘no-late entry’ policy. Once the doors are locked, the doors are locked. Please don’t bang on the door and disturb the class. This is out of respect for the teacher and fellow yogis. Please make a conscious effort to be set up and on your mat at least a few minutes before class starts. This means allowing plenty of time for you to travel to the Shala, park and arrive without rushing.
The Premises may from time to time be closed to students and guests on particular Public Holidays and Summer Holiday periods or for exclusive private hire. Students and guests will be notified in advance of any occasion that this may occur.
Shala Yoga Bunbury may refuse admission to the Premises of any person in its absolute discretion and without giving any reason.
Opening hours are as per the class schedule.
-
Every student must register their own account in Mindbody to book and pay for classes. If you wish to pay by cash or bank transfer, please contact us.
In the case of Shala Yoga workshops and events, you can book and pay for multiple people via Eventbrite.
-
Students and guests must be appropriately attired at all times. We recommend you wear comfortable stretchy clothing. For our restorative practices such as Yin you may like to wear a jumper and socks.
Shoes are to be left outside of the practice space.
Arrive clean and fresh. Please refrain from wearing strong perfumes and scents in the practice space. These can be distracting and trigger allergies.
-
Shala Yoga Bunbury is committed to creating a safe, sustainable environment for our community.
We follow a path of inclusivity and acceptance, welcoming everyone to practice with us. Students and guests are expected to honour this path and be respectful of other people’s views and opinions.
Mobile devices are to be set to silent during class times.
Prior permission is required before taking photographs or digital images on the Premises.
Smoking is not permitted in any area of the Premises.
No drunkenness, bad language or other misconduct or illegal activity is permitted on the Premises.
In the event that a student/guest/client/facilitator causes damage to or destruction of any property then that student/guest/client/facilitator is fully responsible for making good all loss suffered by Shala Yoga Bunbury as a result of such damage or destruction.
Students/guests/clients/facilitators violating these Policies are subject to such action as may be deemed necessary by Shala Yoga Bunbury. Continued violation of the Policies may lead to suspension of class pass and membership privileges and ultimately expulsion from attendance by Shala Yoga Bunbury.
-
Students, guests and clients are expected to finalise payment prior to commencement of all classes and events.
Unfortunately we do not offer transfer of payment to other classes, passes or clients. Passes or memberships will not be extended beyond their expiry date. Please ensure you check the expiry date on your pass or membership prior to purchasing. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and any changes made to passes and memberships purchased are at the discretion of Shala Yoga Bunbury. Please contact us directly if you have any concerns or requests.
If you are unable to attend a class you have registered for, your registration must be cancelled 2 hours prior to the start of class to release your pass for future use. Cancellations less than two hours prior to the start of class will forfeit their pass. See more under ‘Cancellation Policy - Waitlists.’
Our Purchase Policy is in accordance with Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and consumer guarantees. We ensure that our products and services meet the standards set forth by ACL, and we handle all customer inquiries, refunds, and exchanges in a manner consistent with consumer guarantees.

Cancellation Policy
-
We are a small boutique studio limited to 18 mats, so we operate with a 2 hour cancellation policy which allows others to attend class if you can’t - but it only works if everyone follows the rules.
This means it’s your responsibility to effectively manage your class bookings and help us reduce the number of ’late cancels’ and ‘no-shows’.
If you can’t make class please always cancel your booking in Mindbody, the same way you booked. We cannot process cancellations via the phone or email.
You can cancel class up to 2 hours before start-time without getting penalised. This is defined as an ‘early cancel’.
If you cancel within the 2 hours before start-time, this is defined as a ‘late cancel’.
If you don't cancel you will be marked as a ‘no-show’.
Both ‘late cancels’ and 'no-shows' involve penalties. If you booked in with a Causal Pass you will lose your pass. If you booked in via our Intro Offer or one of our Memberships, you may be fined a fee of $15. Future booking restrictions may be applied following repeated bad behaviour. So please cancel your booking if you can no longer attend.
-
All tickets sold for events and workshops by Shala Yoga are final and non-refundable. We do not offer refunds or credit on events/workshops for change of mind, injury, illness, or any other reason. If you can no longer attend an event or workshop, you are welcome to find another person to take your spot. Please notify us of any change of attendee via email.
We are not responsible for the sales or administration of any events or workshops run by a 3rd Party Facilitator who has hired Shala Yoga. Please get in touch with the Facilitator with your questions.
-
Deposits paid are final and non-refundable. Cancellations given more than 1 month before the start date will receive the remainder of payment refunded, only if the spot can be filled.
We do not offer refunds or credit on retreats for change of mind, injury, illness, or any other reason. Please get the necessary Travel Insurance to cover any unexpected circumstances.
Any other specific terms as per the cancellation policy for a specific retreat will be published at the time of launch.
-
Each class allows a maximum of 5 students to join the waitlist. Only book onto a waitlist if you genuinely want to go to class. Don’t book in if you’re not sure or unable to check the status of your booking, especially in the lead up to that class.
You can add yourself onto a waitlist up until 2 hours before class (unless already full). You must have a valid payment to join a Waitlist. Your payment will be credited back to your Mindbody account if you’re not successful in joining the class.
If someone cancels their place in the class before the 2 hour cancellation policy and you are next in line on the Waitlist, you will move into the class. You will be notified by email or text message if you have subscribed to our Schedule Updates communications, otherwise you need to check your status manually in Mindbody.
If someone cancels their place in the class after the 2 hour cancellation policy only people on the waitlist who are subscribed to our Schedule Updates communications will receive an email or text message inviting them to claim the spot. The first person to respond automatically moves into the class.
We highly recommend that you subscribe to our communications to benefit from Waitlists.

Students, guests and clients must notify Shala Yoga Bunbury and its teachers of any injury or health issue, or any other reason they are not capable of participating in a class or event prior to its commencement.
Shala Yoga Bunbury and its teachers are not medically trained and are therefore not qualified to assess whether students are in good physical condition and/or that students can engage in active or passive exercise without detriment to their health, safety, comfort or physical condition.
Students, guests and clients are responsible for their own health and wellbeing. Shala Yoga Bunbury is not liable for any injuries or health issues that may be aggravated or arise during a class or event.
Students, guests and clients are advised they must take expert advice prior to commencing any exercise program if they are in any doubt about their ability to engage in active or passive yoga practice.

If at any time you feel discomfort or strain, gently come out of the posture. You may rest at any time during the class. It is important in yoga that you listen to your body, and respect its limits on any given day. You understand that yoga includes physical movements as well as an opportunity for relaxation, stress re-education and relief of muscular tension. As is the case with any physical activity, the risk of injury, even serious or disabling, is always present and cannot be entirely eliminated. If you experience any pain or discomfort, you will listen to your body, discontinue the activity, and ask for support from the teacher. You will continue to breathe smoothly. You assume full responsibility for any and all damages, which may incur through participation. You understand that Yoga is not a substitute for medical attention, examination, diagnosis or treatment. Yoga is not recommended and is not safe under certain medical conditions. You affirm that a licensed physician has verified your good health and physical condition to participate in such a fitness program, if required. In addition, you will make the teacher aware of any medical conditions or physical limitations before class. If you are pregnant, become pregnant or are post-natal or post-surgical, you can verify that you have your physician’s approval to participate. You also affirm that you alone are responsible to decide whether to practice yoga and participation is at your own risk. You hereby agree to irrevocably release and waive any claims that you have now or may have hereafter against Shala Yoga Bunbury and all related facilities and premises for any personal injury or negligence. Additionally, the facility, teacher and Shala Yoga Bunbury are not in any way responsible for any loss or damage of your personal property. Those under 18 years of age must have authorisation by a parent or guardian. If any portion of this release from liability shall be deemed by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, then the remainder of this release from liability shall remain in full force and effect and the offending provision or provisions severed here from. You have carefully read and fully understand and agree to the above terms of this Liability Waiver Agreement. You agree voluntarily and recognise that by attending a class, workshop, event or retreat at or with Shala Yoga Bunbury serves as complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law and that it cannot be changed orally.
